Local boy wins top dance course position
THEO CANNING, 9 from Dunmow, has won a place at The Royal Ballet Lower School, in London. Amazingly, Theo only began ballet dancing around half-a-year-ago and was whittled down to the final 6 out of 1,200 contestants/hopefuls.
He will begin in September, training once a week on a strict regime and he hopes that he will become a full-time student at The Richard Park Academy once he reaches the required minimum age of 11.

STORTFORD: Cazfest was a huge success...
The Cazfest, a festival which included musical performances from the remaining members of S-Club 7, Ed Drewett (the popular-rise to fame) and The Overtones. The festival was in memory of Caroline Johnstone and was to raise money for unexpected heart attacks, in particular within children.
The final ammount raised is not yet known, but it surely was an event that certainly looked like it was enjoyed by all. (It took place on July, 2nd, 2011 and you can find out more or see photographs, pictures and images from the day at www.cazfest.com)

Update on Stansted's new healthcare centre
I emailed Mrs. Ruth Clifford, who works for Stansted Parish Council, in regards to our current situation with the healthcare centre, and this is what she said:
"Currently, there is a company wishing to develop this site with the inclusion of a new GP surgery/NHS dentist and health centre - you may be aware that they held a public exhibition of their proposals earlier this year. As yet, no formal planning application has been submitted to Uttlesford District Council."
The 'TVR Castle Lotus garage' has relocated, as to where it is unknown. So for now, our healthcare centre remains as plans.

School leavers finish tommorow...
Our local high school/college, MMCC (formerly known as MHS) has many of it's student's leaving tommorow (Friday, 10th) after completing their full-time education and finishing their exams.
Many of the students will have to stay on until late June to complete remaining exams, but the majority will be leaving tommorow. An apology in advance to their excitable behaviour, which i'm sure you can relate to - leaving school is such an emotional, exciting and stressful rollercoaster, and I personally ask you for your respect and patience for whatever they may do come 10am - 3:30pm tommorow!

Beavers visit our Windmill...
The Elsenham Beavers, who are part of the Scout movement visited Stansted's very own Windmill tonight.
The Beavers were lucky enough to have an exclusive look at the windmill, on a non-open day. Seeing the children come back from the Windmill this evening, I could tell they all had a great time by the beaming smiles they had on their faces. It just goes to show that the Windmill is still popular, even with the younger generation.
Remember the Windmill is open on every first Sunday of the month.
Next opening is Sunday, 3rd, July, 2011.

The Healthcare centre in Lower Street is proposed to be on the site of the current 'TVR Castle garage'. Signs of movement have began as many vehicles from the site have been removed, and the main showrooms closed down.
Is this a sign of development in our new Healthcare centre? More to come...
